2) the motorcyclist can be severely injured because of the crush force inflicted by the other motor vehicle; and 3) the motorcyclist often does not have sufficient insurance on the motorcycle, particularly uninsured and underinsured motorist insurance.

It is not unusual for a motorcyclist to suffer catastrophic injuries in a motorcycle collision because of his or her vulnerability.  This fact, combined with the typically small insurance policy available, makes motorcycle injury cases particularly tragic.
